Stephen Foote studied photography at Plymouth College of Art, graduating in 1981. He became involved with the Mary Rose Project as a volunteer diver in 1979, and went on to become the staff Photographer at the Mary Rose Trust. He was involved in the photography – both underwater and on the surface, covering the raising of the ship in 1982.
In 1983 a move to the film and television industry beckoned and over the subsequent 26 years he has, and continues to work on many award winning high profile documentaries.
He has also been a commercially qualified diver since 1982, and specialises in underwater filming. In his spare time he photographs publicity stills for the TV industry, and landscapes and wildlife for stock image libraries.
