Richard Jeffery is an fine art photographer and 3D artist who has taught photography from beginner to City&Guilds/A Level and beyond in Bournemouth and Poole for the last 10 years.
He is an experienced group leader, working with community and disability groups across the South West on longer projects lasting from a few weeks to several months – often Lottery funded.
Self taught, he recently returned to Higher Education to complete an FdA Photographic Practices at Arts University College Bournemouth.
Although recent commercial work centres around event photography and image making for client websites, his personal work is often strongly abstract, and frequently experimental with both film and digital technologies. He particularly enjoys photographing in snow and ice, and in 2007 spent some time working alongside the scientific research community at the Arctic Research Station at Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, courtesy of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).
