Stephen Foote Stephen Foote studied photography at Plymouth College of Art, graduating in 1981. He became involved with the Mary Rose Project as a volunteer diver in 1979, and went on to become the staff Photographer at the Mary Rose Trust. He was involved in the photography - both underwater and on the surface, covering the raising of the ship in 1982. In 1983 a move to the film and television industry beckoned and over the subsequent 26 years he has, and continues to work on many award winning high profile documentaries. He has also been a commercially qualified diver since 1982, and specialises in underwater filming. In his spare time he photographs publicity stills for the TV industry, and landscapes and wildlife for stock image libraries. With a PhD from Reading he went on to study oceanography at the Institute of Oceanographic Sciences. He left deep sea biology to train as a photographer and a cameraman with Oxford Scientific Films . In 1987 he went freelance and continued to make wildlife documentaries all over the World for programmes such as Survival. He has filmed many different programmes for the BBC Natural History Unit, but it was his work on the Bafta award winning series “Blue Planet” which brought him back to oceanography and to taking photographs of deep sea animals. He is a macro specialist photographer. Many of his photographs are used to illustrate scientific and popular text books, magazine articles and on the web. Visit David Shale's website Richard Jeffery Richard Jeffery is an exhibiting fine art photographer and 3D artist who has taught photography from beginner to A Level in Bournemouth and Poole for the last 8 years. He is an experienced group leader, working with community and disability groups across the South West on longer projects lasting from a few weeks to several months - often Lottery funded. Self taught, he has recently returned to Higher Education and is currently following a part time degree course at Arts Institute Bournemouth.Although recent commercial work centres around image making for client websites, his own work is often strongly abstract, and frequently experimental with both film and digital technologies. He particularly enjoys photographing in snow and ice, and in 2007 spent some time working alongside the scientific research community at the Arctic Research Station at Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, courtesy of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).
