We ran our first courses for 2009 last weekend at Holton Lee.
The course was a mixture of classroom and fieldwork studies for our group of eight students, where we explored mainly composition, depth of field and exposure – although other areas of photography were also explored.
The great thing about Holton Lee, with its mixture of seashore wood and heathland locations, is the diversity of problems that the student is confronted with, especially in respect of depth of field (in low-light wooded areas) and exposure. However, evryone made good progress, and they felt that they came away from this course with a much greater understanding of these different areas of the photographic process.
We were also blessed with nice, mainly sunny, weather, and we all had a great day out!
