Locations

We use a number of locations around Purbeck and South Dorset – and increasingly further afield.

We add new locations whenever we find anywhere suitable, and are always happy to arrange sessions at a time and location of your choosing iif we think it will work.

Tutors

Our Tutors are in the main locally based, practising professional photographers, with years of experience under their belt across a wide range of image making environments.  Most courses are now run by Richard Jeffery, who teaches photography in FE environments from beginner to C&G/AS/A2 levels.  He also works in a fine art context and as a commercial event photographer

With our combined expertise we offer a variety of courses aimed at every level of photographer – from the absolute beginner with a compact camera to the semi-professional and serious amateur with a big bag of kit – across all aspects of photography.

Sandy Hill Studios

A useful location for small practical camera skill workshops – on the same site as the Boilerhouse Gallery in Corfe Castle, it has access to 1950s light industrial architecture, the countryside, Corfe’s bijou little heritage railway station, and there’s a big castle too if that takes your fancy…

Sandyhill Lane

Corfe Castle

Directions

Drive from Wareham on the Corfe Castle road A351.  As you come down the hill towards the base of the castle mound, look out for the National Trust Visitor Centre, and then the road to Studland on your left – keep going straight.  As the road starts to climb and bend around to the right, you will see another left turning, set between two pairs of cottages – take this road, and then turn right immediatey after the the railway bridge.  The gallery is at the end of the track opposite Corfe Railway Station.

Tea and coffee making facilities will be provided, and there is a good bakery in the village.  Mobile coverage can be variable; we can usually arrange wifi access if needed.

Furzebrook Village Hall

Just outside Wareham, we use this modern village hall for the Studio lighting workshops and most post production courses. Plenty of parking, tea making facilities and it even has heating…..
